Essex house explosion leaves 1 injured, cause under investigation

ESSEX, MD—An explosion and subsequent fire at a home in Essex resulted in one person being injured and transported to the hospital late Saturday night.

At just after 11 p.m. on April 20, units responded to the unit block of Ridgemoor Road (21221).  The blast resulted in a two-alarm fire that crews battled to control.

The cause of the explosion is currently under investigation by Baltimore County officials and authorities.

Further details about the cause of the explosion and the extent of the injuries are pending as the investigation continues.
