UPDATE: The lockdown has been lifted.  Eastern Tech and Stemmers Run Middle were also briefly placed on lockout status as a precaution.

ESSEX, MD—A local high school is on lockdown status, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.

At around 11:30 a.m. on Friday, December 1, Kenwood High School was placed on lockdown.

There is a heavy police presence at Kenwood High School that authorities say is due to an ongoing investigation being conducted inside the school.

No additional details are available at this time.
