Employee charged after setting fires at Franklin Square Medical Center

ROSEDALE, MD—Authorities have charged a hospital employee after she set fires at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center over the weekend.

On Saturday, the Baltimore County Fire Department responded to Franklin Square, located at 9000 Franklin Square Drive (21237), for a trash bin fire in a soiled utility room on the third floor.  Due to the suspicious nature of the fire, the Baltimore County Police Department responded to investigate.

On Sunday, police and fire again responded again to MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center for two more fires, located on the fourth and fifth floors. A check of the hospital by the staff discovered two additional fires. A total of five fires were discovered between December 12 and 13.
