Pellet gun used in rash of destruction cases in Essex, Dundalk

Crime HandcuffsPolice are asking for assistance from the public in identifying the individual or individuals responsible for causing thousands of dollars in damage to residents’ doors and windows last weekend.

Between Friday night, February 24, and Sunday morning, February 26, the Essex precinct received 26 reports of property damage in the form of vehicle windows, storm doors, sliding glass doors, and a few business’ front windows being shot out by someone with a pellet gun.



The Dundalk precinct experienced a similar situation, with 34 calls for broken car windows, storm doors, and even the front window of a McDonald’s on North Point Boulevard, also attributed to the use of a pellet gun.

The suspect(s) struck mostly during the overnight hours on Friday and Saturday night. Police warn residents this weekend to stay alert and report any suspicious vehicles or persons they see immediately by dialing 9-1-1.
