JOPPA, MD—Crews responded to a house fire in the Joppa area on Saturday evening.

The fire was reported on August 23 in the 1000-block of Plaza Circle.

The Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company reports that an improperly discarded cigarette ignited a small fire on the porch of one of the homes.

The occupants quickly extinguished the fire before units arrived on the scene.

No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported.
