JOPPA, MD—Severe storms caused major flooding in Harford County on Thursday evening. Several roads have been closed and multiple water rescues have been reported.
Water rescues took place in the areas of Pulaski Highway near the Baltimore County line, the 800-block of Joppa Farm Road in Joppa, and the 900-block of Joppa Farm Road.
Several vehicles also become stuck in flood water on Philadelphia Road (MD-7) between MD-24 and Edgewood Road. Philadelphia Road is currently closed. Edgewood Road is also impassable at the CSX railroad bridge due to flood water, according to the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.
Harford Road and Belair Road have also both been shut down at Reckord Road due to high water. Winters Run Road is closed between Philadelphia Road (MD-7) and Singer Road.
Several crashes have been reported along Mountain Road between I-95 and Old Joppa Road, including one collision involving an ambulance.
Motorists are reminded to turn around, don’t drown.
