11 BCPS student teams earn honors during Maryland State VEX Robotics Championships

TOWSON, MD—The Maryland State VEX Robotics Championships is an annual competition that brings together the top robotics teams from more than 40 countries to showcase their skills and creativity. This year, 11 teams from five Baltimore County Public Schools participated in the competition and nine teams from four schools have qualified for the VEX Robotics World Championship, which will be held in Dallas, Texas, from April 25, through May 3.

The competition is open to students from elementary, middle, and high schools who are interested in robotics, teamwork, and critical thinking. Over the course of the year, students from 30 different teams build robots to solve an engineering challenge presented in the form of a game. The teams also compete in a teamwork challenge where they work together to score points.
