Cockeysville man arrested on Belair Road, charged in connection with northeast Baltimore shooting

BALTIMORE, MD—A Cockeysville man has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting in northeast Baltimore.

Detectives have arrested 27-year-old Michael Armstrong of Cockeysville.  Police say he shot the 42-year-old female victim on Monday, February 19 while in the 4500-block of Powell Avenue. The victim then drove to the 4500-block of Parkmont Avenue, where she crashed her vehicle.

Detectives say that this was not a random shooting. Armstrong targeted the female victim as a result of a dispute.

With the assistance of witnesses, officers were able to quickly identify the suspect, locating him in the 6000-block of Belair Road.

Detectives transported Armstrong to Central Booking, where he was charged with attempted first-degree murder.
