TOWSON, MD—The Baltimore County Police Department has announced the loss of a K9 member.

The department has announced the passing of retired K9 Wiley.

K9 Wiley was the long-time partner of Corporal J. List. He began training with the Baltimore County Police K9 Unit in September 2010.

Wiley was certified in patrol and narcotics detection, conducting over 325 criminal searches and countless narcotics scans before retiring in 2018.

After his retirement, K9 Wiley looked forward to snowy winter days and playing outside, officials say.

K9 Wiley passed away peacefully on October 10, 2023, at his handler’s side
