Baltimore County to initiate purchasing development rights easements on 70 acres owned by Richardson Farms

CHASE, MD—Baltimore County is taking steps to purchase development rights easements on 70 acres owned by Richardson Farms east of Ebenezer Road and Earls Beach Road, Councilman David Marks announced on Wednesday.

The move will preserve a large area of farmland from development.

“Thank you to County Executive Olszewski’s administration for initiating this plan, which will come before the County Council later this month,” said Councilman Marks. “Altogether, more than 250 acres are identified for preservation.”

“My thanks also to Les Richardson and the entire Richardson family for their longtime commitment to agriculture in Baltimore County,” Marks added. “My thanks also to our state partners for their support, including Senator Jennings and Delegates Nawrocki and Szeliga.”
