BEL AIR, MD—The 2023 Chesapeake Bay Balloon Festival, which was to be held in Harford County this year, has been cancelled.

On Friday afternoon, Harford County officials said that the festival, which was to be held August 4 – 6 at Cedar Lane Regional Park in Bel Air, had been canceled due to “numerous unresolved safety concerns.”

The county has directed the foundation to cease advertising and requested that refunds be given on ticket sales.

No additional details have been provided.
