TOWSON, MD—Motorists heading toward the Towson area on Thursday morning should be aware of a major closure.

East Joppa Road has been shut down due to a fire at the Public Safety Building located in the 700-block.

Smoke is being reported on the 11th floor of the building.

Joppa Road is blocked from Goucher Boulevard to Providence Road, according to the Providence Volunteer Fire Company.

Motorists should use an alternate route.
