Education Foundation announces 34 recipients of scholarships totaling $33,730

NOTTINGHAM, MD—The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools has announced 34 recipients of its scholarships this year. The total value of the scholarships awarded is $33,730.

The foundation presents scholarships that it funds directly – STEM (Science, Technology, Mathematics, and Engineering) and BEEF (Business, Economics, Entrepreneur, and Finance) scholarships – as well as scholarships it manages for private philanthropic donors.

The 2020 BCPS graduates receiving scholarships through the foundation are:

  • Omoleye Adeyemi, Sollers Point Technical/Chesapeake High School – Lorraine W. Long Scholarship
  • Angela Atkisson, Kenwood High School – Dr. Joshua R. Wheeler Scholarship
  • Mofeoluwa Babalola, Milford Mill Academy – Dr. Joe A. Hairston Scholarship
  • Tijesunimi Borode, Western School of Technology – EDFoundation BEEF/STEM Scholarship
  • Sumra Chaudry, Western School of Technology – EDFoundation BEEF/STEM Scholarship
  • Kauotar Cheji, Dundalk High School – Dundalk High School Class of 1967 Scholarship
  • Briana Christian, Sollers Point Technical High School – Dr. Anthony Marchione Scholarship
  • Victoria Clark, Eastern Technical High School – Dr. Anthony Marchione Scholarship
  • Bianca Darago, Chesapeake High School – EDFoundation BEEF/STEM Scholarship
  • Damiola Dipe, Overlea High School – Bernice H. Johnson Scholarship Fund
  • Khelassah Djilioni, Towson High School – Patricia Corbett-Kirkner Scholarship
  • Claire Doll, Catonsville High School – Baltimore County Retired Schools Personnel Association Scholarship
  • Chase Douglass, Dulaney High School – Allied Sports: Chase Kalisz Scholarship
  • Precious Durojaiye, Woodlawn High School – Dr. Anthony Marchione Scholarship
  • Emma Evans-Nolet, Parkville High School – EDFoundation BEEF/STEM Scholarship

  • Shefra Shah, Eastern Technical High School – EDFoundation BEEF/STEM Scholarship

  • Andre Vines, Woodlawn High School – Allied Sports: Tradepoint Atlantic Scholarship
  • Caitlyn Virts, Patapsco High School and Center for the Arts – Dr. Anthony Marchione Scholarship
  • Ferdinand Virtudes, Pikesville High School – EDFoundation BEEF/STEM Scholarship
  • Bill Zhao, Towson High School – Steven Shock Scholarship

Because school award ceremonies could not be held this year, scholarship recipients will be honored via social media platforms.

“We celebrate the Class of 2020 and wish every graduate wonderful days ahead,” said Deborah Phelps, executive director of The Education Foundation. “We invite families, organizations, and companies to join us in honoring BCPS graduates by considering launching an Education Foundation Scholarship Fund. The Education Foundation of BCPS hosts an array of scholarship opportunities to provide support for the continuous growth and success of BCPS students and their families through our private scholarship program.”
