A man has been arrested after attempting to break into a local frozen treat shop.

At just before 7:30 a.m. on Friday, November 30, the suspect smashed the front window of Rita’s, located in the 9600-block of Belair Road in Perry Hall (21236), with a rock in order to gain entry.

A witness confronted the suspect prior to his gaining entry, causing the suspect to flee the scene.

The man was placed into police custody shortly thereafter.

He has not been identified by police.
