Franklin Square shooting suspect dies at Shock Trauma

Police LightsThe suspect in this week’s shooting near Franklin Square Hospital has died.

Erwin J. Acree, 29, died from his injuries on Wednesday at Shock Trauma.

Acree sustained those injuries when he shot himself during a barricade situation in Baltimore City as police closed in on him earlier this week.

At about 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday night, Acree shot his ex-girlfriend, a janitor at the hospital, outside of Franklin Square Hospital, causing the hospital to go on lockdown.

There has been no update on her condition.
