UPDATE: One person has died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. A second person has been flown to Shock Trauma.

UPDATE 2: The deceased crash victim has been identified as Jeffrey Vande-Ryt, 48, of Columbia, MD.

Crews are responding to a serious Tuesday afternoon crash in the Fallston area.

At 3:15 p.m., the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company reported that an accident had occurred at Mountain Road (MD-152) at Stratford Road.

Mountain Road has been shut down due to the crash.

One person is said to be trapped and in grave condition.  Emergency personnel are using the “jaws of life.”

A medevac chopper is en route to the scene and will land at Reckord Road Park.

Motorists should avoid the area.
