Essex pizza delivery driver escapes would-be robber

police-lightsA local pizza delivery driver managed to escape from a would-be robber on New Year’s Day.

Police say that, at 7 p.m. on January 1, At 7 p.m., the driver was delivering food in the 900 Block of Honeywood Place, 21221.

It was there that the driver was met outside by the suspect.

Realizing something didn’t seem right, the delivery driver made his way back to his vehicle with the suspect in pursuit.

The would-be robber implied that he had a weapon and attempted to open the door to the driver’s vehicle, but the pizza driver sped away from the scene.

No one was injured in the incident.
