House fire reported in Essex

ESSEX, MD—Crews are on the scene of a Saturday afternoon house fire in Essex. The fire was reported at around 1:15 p.m. in the 700-block of Essex Avenue (21221). Arriving units found an exterior fire on the side of the dwelling. The fire was quickly extinguished and didn’t spread to the inside of the residence. No injuries have been reported.

Attempted burglary at Casa Mia’s; man robbed in Essex

Police are investigating a pair of local crimes that were reported over the weekend. At just after midnight on Saturday morning, January 6, an individual unsuccessfully attempted to gain entry into the Casa Mia’s located in the 8600 block of Honeygo Boulevard (21236) by kicking the front door and striking it with a large cinder block. Crews responding to Essex house fire

Emergency crews were on the scene of a dwelling fire in Essex on Saturday morning. At just after 10 a.m., fire personnel responded to the 700 block of Essex Avenue. At the scene, crews found that there was a fire in the basement of the residence. There has been no update on injuries.  Motorists should avoid the area.
