ESSEX, MD—Police say one person has died following a crash in Essex last week.

At just before 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, officers with the Baltimore County Police Department responded to the area of N. Marlyn Avenue and Essex Avenue (21221) for a motor vehicle collision.

Detectives have determined that a 2011 Infiniti FX35 was traveling on Essex Avenue attempting to cross N. Marlyn Avenue when it struck an electric scooter traveling southbound on N. Marlyn Avenue.

The occupant of the scooter, 20-year-old Josiah E. Epps, was transported to a local area hospital and pronounced dead on August 4th.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
