House fire reported in Essex

Crews are responding to the scene of a Monday afternoon house fire in Essex. At about 2 p.m., fire personnel responded to the 1600 block of Howard Avenue. At the scene, crews found smoke showing from a 2-story home with fire coming from the basement. There has been no word on any injuries. Motorists should use caution in the area.
