Juvenile in custody following school bus stabbing in Rosedale

ROSEDALE, MD—A juvenile is in custody following a stabbing incident involving a student who had just exited a school bus in Rosedale on Thursday, Baltimore County police say.

Authorities were called to the area of Franklin Square Drive and King Avenue for a report of an assault. According to school officials, a student from Kenwood High School’s summer program was stabbed after getting off Bus 183.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with injuries that are believed to be non-life-threatening, according to WBAL-TV.

Rochelle Harley, the summer school lead at Kenwood High School, informed parents of students on Bus 183 about the incident in a letter.

“I am writing to inform you of an incident that occurred this afternoon. A student who was on Bus 183 was stabbed after they exited the bus,” Harley wrote.

She assured parents that Baltimore County police and school administrators were on the scene and that student safety remains a top priority.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
