Committee members needed for BCPS southeast elementary school boundary study

MIDDLE RIVER, MD—Baltimore County Public Schools officials are seeking three volunteers each – two parents and one staff member – from Chase, Oliver Beach, and Seneca elementary schools to serve on a boundary study committee.

The purpose of the study is to maximize the use of available space and balance enrollment among Chase, Oliver Beach, and Seneca elementary schools. Those interested in participating on the study committee should complete the Committee Member Interest Form or contact their school’s principal.

Committee members will be selected this summer and will meet in September 2025. The group is scheduled to meet up to six times between September and December this year, including the hosting of a public information session. Two of these six meetings will be held as needed depending on the work of the committee. All meetings will be held on Wednesday evenings at Middle River Middle School.

Those interested in serving on the committee should express interest by Friday, July 11, 2025.

BCPS provides many ways to stay informed and to advocate for specific concerns as part of the overall boundary study process. More information on the role and responsibilities of the boundary study committee members, on how to stay informed throughout the process, and on providing feedback may be found Southeast Area Elementary School Boundary Study webpage.

Spanish translation services will be provided at each meeting. Additional translation services will be made available upon request to the BCPS Office of Strategic Planning if received at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled meeting time.
