CARNEY, MD—A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at Pine Grove Middle School on Wednesday morning.
The event marked the completion of a three-year, $47.2 million project at the Carney-area school that added 16,787 square feet of state-of-the-art learning space, increasing the school’s capacity by 158 seats.
“Pine Grove Middle School has served students in Perry Hall, Carney, and Parkville since 1974,” said Councilman David Marks. “It has operated with an open classroom model, and for those who have visited and used this building, it obviously needed many renovations and repairs, like any school of its age.”
“After three years of renovations, this school has new state-of-the-art security measures and facilities,” said Councilman Mike Ertel. “A big thanks to the school board, Principal (Deborah) Magness, Superintendent (Myriam) Rogers, students, educators, and dedicated PTA volunteers. Your efforts have resulted in a wonderful new building.”
