Maryland flag lowered to half-staff on Friday for Fallen Heroes Day

ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Wes Moore has ordered the Maryland flag lowered to half-staff from sunrise until sunset on Friday, May 2, 2025.

The flag is being lowered to make Fallen Heroes Day. This day honors Maryland police, firefighters, and emergency medical/rescue personnel who have lost their lives in the line of duty during the past year.

In Baltimore County, the 40th annual Fallen Heroes Day ceremony will take place at the Fallen Heroes Memorial, located in Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025.
