TOWSON, MD—Homicide detectives with the Baltimore County Police Department have arrested and charged a suspect in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred in Towson in December.

Police on Monday announced that 46-year-old Michael Distance has been charged with first-degree murder.

On Sunday, December 8, 2024, officers responded to the unit block of Ecoway Court (21286) following reports of a stabbing.

When authorities arrived at the scene, they located a male victim, 37-year-old Johnny Charles, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Distance is being held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
