GoFundMe campaign established for family of slain Joppatowne High School student

JOPPA, MD—A GoFundMe campaign has been established for the family of Warren Grant, the student who was killed in a shooting at Joppatowne High School on Friday.

The page has been established by the Brandon Tolson Foundation, an organization that provides emotional support and financial relief to families who have lost a child.

“Warren Grant was a smart, charismatic, funny, and an athletic young man. He loved to play basketball and football. Loved playing video games and being with his friends,” reads the GoFundMe campaign. “He truly was a friend to everyone. He was respectful, very giving and always dressed to impress.”

“Warren is survived by his parents Dawn & Warren along with his siblings Robert, Karolyn, Charon, Devon, and Destiny. His grandparents, nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and a host of friends,” the statement continues. “All proceeds will be utilized to assist the family with his funeral service. Thank you in advance for your consideration.”

Warren Grant, 15, was shot and killed during an altercation in a bathroom at Joppatowne High School on Friday afternoon.  Jaylen Rushawn Prince, 16, has been arrested and charged as an adult.

Joppatowne High School will remain closed until Thursday to give students and staff time to grieve and recover.
