BALTIMORE, MD—The National Weather Service has confirmed that five tornadoes touched down in Maryland on Wednesday evening.
Forecasters confirm that twisters touched down in Poolesville (ending in Gaithersburg), Montgomery County; Columbia, Howard County; Arbutus (ending in Halethorpe), Baltimore County; Middle River, Baltimore County; and Eldersburg (ending in Gamber), Carroll County.
All of the tornadoes were classified as EF-1, except for the Eldersburg tornado which was classified as an EF-0.
The National Weather Service also confirmed that tornadoes touched down in Inwood, WV and Leesburg, VA.
