Maryland State Police seeking high school, college students for annual leadership seminar

SYKESVILLE, MD—Maryland State Police officials are now accepting applications for the fourth annual Leadership and Career Development Seminar. This event offers a unique opportunity for participants to learn more about the State Police as a potential career choice.

The three-day program will run from July 12-14, 2024, and will be held at the Maryland State Police Training Academy in Sykesville. Attendees will gain knowledge from troopers and civilian employees specializing in a variety of areas, including emergency communications, fitness, defensive tactics, aviation, and flight paramedics.

The purpose of the seminar is to identify and nurture young talent within the Maryland State Police and to foster relationships with the community. By offering hands-on experiences and a tour of the State Police facilities, participants will gain a better understanding of the responsibilities involved in a law enforcement career.

In addition to providing an educational experience, the Leadership and Career Development Seminar also offers free food and lodging for participants.

Eligibility for the program is open to Maryland high school juniors & seniors and college freshmen who are interested in a career in law enforcement.
