Eastern Shore man is Maryland’s newest lottery millionaire

SALISBURY, MD—A Dorchester County resident who has enjoyed playing scratch-offs for most of his adult life scored a life-changing win on THE GAME OF LIFE™, hitting for $1 million on the $20 instant ticket.

“It was ticket number 1 on the roll,” the enthusiastic player said. He purchased the scratch-off while on a vehicle-shopping excursion to Salisbury.

The Eastern Shore man and a group of friends started playing Maryland Lottery scratch-off games as young adults and have enjoyed the hobby for many years. The new millionaire has won in the past, hitting for up to $500 on scratch-offs. He also enjoys Pick 4 and won $5,000 on that game once. The attraction of playing, he said, is “the thrill of winning!”

Although he hasn’t given much thought to what he will do with his winnings, his top ideas upon claiming the prize at Maryland Lottery headquarters were investing and starting a business.

He bought the million-dollar scratch-off at Salisbury Quick Stop, which is located at 2513 North Salisbury Boulevard in Salisbury.
