BALTIMORE, MD—The weather in the Baltimore area could get a bit bumpy over the next 24 hours, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters say a strong cold front will bring heavy rain and high winds to the region later on Wednesday. Southerly winds are gusting up to 25 mph on Wednesday morning with 40-55 mph gusts expected later in the afternoon and overnight as the front passes. Winds will continue Thursday before diminishing Thursday night. A Wind Advisory will be in effect for the Baltimore area from 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday though 4:00 a.m. on Thursday.
The latest forecast also has the entire region under a risk for severe weather. A line of showers and isolated thunderstorms should race through the area on Wednesday afternoon.
