Middle River warehouse manager snags winning $50,000 Maryland Lottery scratch-off

MIDDLE RIVER, MD—Vacation planning tops the to-do list for a Middle River resident who is celebrating a scratch-off win of $50,000. A warehouse manager for four decades, the loyal player bought a 100X The Cash instant ticket and just claimed the game’s second-tier prize.

He plays scratch-offs two to three times a week, the player told Maryland Lottery officials. The lucky man found his winning game at the Kwik Mart located at 901 Middle River Road in Middle River. He made a purchase, leaving him with $10, which he used to buy another instant ticket that won $20. Instead of cashing in his prize, the Baltimore County man put that $20 toward the purchase of the 100X The Cash ticket.

He scanned his instant ticket a first time, but wasn’t fully paying attention and only saw the number five. The player was quite shocked when he rechecked his scratch-off for a win and learned the prize was $50,000.

His partner shared his excitement when he called her with his winning news. They plan to take a vacation later this year to enjoy part of the prize. When he’s not working, the scratch-off fan enjoys spending time golfing and shooting pool.
