Suspect arrested, charged in connection with Middle River stabbing death

MIDDLE RIVER, MD—Police have arrested and charged a suspect in connection with Sunday’s homicide in Middle River.

Homicide detectives with the Baltimore County Police Department have arrested 29-year-old Sulman Villalta-Zelaya in the fatal stabbing of 29-year-old Kevin Murcua-Regalado that occurred on January 28, 2024, in the 1400-block of Fuselage Avenue (21220).

At around 7 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to the area for a reported motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male driver, now identified as Murcua-Regalado, inside the vehicle, who was unresponsive. Medics transported Murcua-Regalado to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The victim suffered injuries to his upper body.

Villalta-Zelaya has been charged with first-degree murder. He is currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center without bond.
