LOCHEARN, MD—Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the killing of an 81-year-old Baltimore County man last year.

Baltimore County homicide detectives have arrested 34-year-old Tavon D. Smith in connection with the November 2023 homicide of 81-year-old Jaward Hannah.

On November 10, officers responded to the 3400-block of Kelox Road (21207) and  located Hannah suffering from trauma to the upper body.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Smith has been charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence, and possession of a firearm with a felony conviction.

He is currently being held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
