Suspect convicted in connection with death of Nottingham man who was shot ten times

NOTTINGHAM, MD—A suspect has been convicted in connection with the 2022 shooting death of a Nottingham man.

The Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s office reports that, on Tuesday afternoon, Nykhi Jmani Robinson, 23, was convicted by a jury late of first-degree murder and firearms charges in Baltimore County Circuit Court.

On October 3, 2022, Baltimore County police responded to the Hallfield Apartments off of Belair Road in the Nottingham area. There, the officers found the body of Vincent Joseph Leach, 28, at the entrance to a trash dumpster corral in the parking lot.

Leach had been shot ten times in the head, back, chest, and hand. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The police found shell casings from two different guns at the scene.

Authorities found that the victim had been in contact via Instagram and text, with a prepaid phone, about meeting at the place where he was later found dead. The investigation then tracked the prepaid phone to Nykhi Robinson.

Detectives then found surveillance video in the area of the shooting and were able to identify the car used by the individuals responsible for Leach’s murder. Cell phone records were then used to place Nykhi Robinson and two others near the scene of the shooting.

No sentencing date has been set at this time. Robinson faces a maximum potential penalty of life imprisonment plus twenty years.
