BALTIMORE, MD—Smelling smoke this morning?  Don’t be alarmed.

The Baltimore County Fire Department says it is receiving numerous calls from residents, mainly in the central and western areas of the county, regarding a strong odor of smoke.

Officials say Maryland is feeling the effects of wildfires in the Virginia area.

There is no major fire event in Baltimore County or surrounding region.
