Baltimore County Director of Economic and Workforce Development returning to private sector, new HR director named

TOWSON, MD—Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski on Monday made two personnel announcements.

Department of Economic and Workforce Development Director Marcus L. Wang, Esq. on Monday announced he is departing Baltimore County government to return to the private sector.

Also, Renee Coleman has been named acting director of the Office of Human Resources (OHR). Coleman succeeds Director Rhoda Benjamin who has departed from Baltimore County government.

“We appreciate Marcus’s energy and committed service as both director of the department and during his tenure as the chair of the Baltimore County Economic Development Advisory Board where he served as a valued partner in promoting economic opportunities across Baltimore County,” Olszewski said. “We thank for him for those dedicated efforts and we wish him and his family well as he plans to return to the private sector.”

Coleman will serve as acting director of the Office of Human Resources after most recently serving as deputy director for operations for the Baltimore County Office of Human Resources.

“I thank Renee for her willingness to serve in this role and for her continued commitment to supporting our dedicated employees.” Olszewski said. “Baltimore County is fortunate to have so many committed public servants ready to put their experience and passion to work on behalf of our residents and communities.”
Olszewski will name candidates to fill these positions in the coming weeks.
