BALTIMORE, MD—The funeral for fallen Baltimore City firefighter Rodney W. Pitts III has just concluded at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen.
The funeral procession will shortly be moving along I-695 in the Towson area and onto northbound I-83, ending at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
The following additional road closures are also in effect:
- West Northern Parkway closed from North Charles Street to I-83 following funeral (expect closures and delays between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.)
- East Padonia Road closed from I-83 to 200 East Padonia Road (expected closures and delays between 1 and 2 p.m.). Expect additional delays along York Road.
- East Padonia Road will be closed from Eastridge Road to Treherne Road between 1 and 3 p.m.
Pitts died last Thursday after battling a house fire on Linden Heights Avenue. A second firefighter, Lieutenant Dillon Rinaldo, passed away from his injuries earlier this week. Funeral plans for Rinaldo have not been announced.
