Baltimore County launches new Volunteer Center online portal

TOWSON, MD—Baltimore County officials on Tuesday announced the newly-reimagined Baltimore County Volunteer Center, a new online portal that will connect individuals of all ages with opportunities to become more active and engaged residents.

By partnering with area nonprofits and government agencies, this one-stop-shop center will promote and highlight ongoing volunteer needs and help organizations increase their capacity while harnessing the skills and talents of community members.

“Baltimore County is home to so many compassionate, inspired, and selfless individuals willing to volunteer their time and talents to strengthening our communities and we are excited to offer this new virtual platform to help to our local non-profits and government agencies provide even greater access to those want to help make a difference,” said Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski. “Our new virtual Volunteer Center will be an important tool to magnify volunteer recruitment and outreach efforts so we can ensure that support and resources are reaching the residents and neighborhoods who need it the most.”

Under the first phase of the relaunched and reimagined Volunteer Center, Baltimore County will work with local leaders to form partnerships with nonprofit and government agencies. Through a new online volunteer recruitment portal, interested organization will be able to save time and more effectively manage volunteer needs.

The tool is available at no cost to nonprofits and governments. Agencies will be able to post their volunteer needs in real time, in a platform that recruits 24/7.

Interested volunteers will be able to respond directly through the portal, making it easier for agencies to track inquiries and later track volunteer hours.

Interested organizations or government agencies can register here at the online portal. Proof of non-profit status and a signed memorandum of understanding will be required. Opportunities will be added on a rolling basis.

Acting as a resource for the partners, the Volunteer Center will also offer periodic opportunities for agencies to network and share best practices.
