ESSEX, MD—Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed in Essex on Wednesday.

On September 27, 2023, officers with the Baltimore County Police Department responded to Route 702 for a report of a pedestrian being struck by a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado.

While the driver of the Silverado remained at the scene, the pedestrian, identified as 38-year-old Candice Reihl, was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.

At this time, detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this crash.
