ABERDEEN, MD—Loud noise alert!
Aberdeen Proving Ground officials say the base has firing operations scheduled for the week of September 25, 2023.
APG has firing operations scheduled this week between approximately 8:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Noise may be heard in some areas off the installation.
Military weapons, watercraft, and/or aircraft will be visible during daytime and nighttime hours. Residents may hear weapons firing and see flashes or light visible off post from illumination devices. APG officials say these operations are not hazardous to residents in surrounding communities and are integral to ensuring continued readiness of service members.
Officials say organizations on APG take every measure to mitigate instances when training or testing becomes problematic to residents off the installation. To minimize the impact to neighbors, APG monitors the weather and the noise readings continuously throughout each day.
