COLD CASE: Police in Baltimore County search for clues in 1989 Dundalk stabbing death

DUNDALK, MD—Police in Baltimore County are searching for clues in connection with a 1989 cold case.

On Saturday, September 23, 1989, Teresa (Terry) Schmansky was found fatally stabbed in her residence located in the 6700 block of Holabird Avenue in Dundalk (21222). Mrs. Schmansky lived at the location with her three children, who were not home at the time of the homicide.

Investigators believe Terry, whose maiden name was Burkholder, may have known or been familiar with the person or persons responsible for her death. Baltimore County Police homicide detectives conducted a thorough investigation into this incident.

Unfortunately, they did not develop any information that might lead to the positive identification of any suspects.
