EDGEMERE, MD—A fatal crash in Edgemere has left one man dead.

At around 4: 15 a.m. on Friday, July 7, 2023, officers with the Baltimore County Police Department responded to the area of North Point Road and Main Avenue (21219) for a motor vehicle collision.

Detectives have determined that a 2022 Nissan Altima was traveling southbound on North Point Road when it overrode a curb and struck a stop sign before coming to rest in a ditch on the west side of the roadway.

The driver of the Nissan, 54-year-old Jerry L Werner, was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

This crash remains under investigation by members of the Baltimore County Crash Team.
