PARKTON, MD—For motorists heading to northern Baltimore County on Monday, a tractor-trailer fire is causing major delays.

At around 1 p.m. on June 26, 2023, a  tractor-trailer fire caused the closure of southbound I-83 at York Road in the Parkton area.

Hazmat crews from the Maryland Department of the Environment are assisting the Baltimore County Fire Department with cleanup.

No injuries have been reported, but southbound I-83 is expected to be closed for several hours.

Motorists should use an alternate route.
