FALLSTON, MD—A scratch-off fan’s Maryland Lottery luck gave him a sizzling $1 million top prize on the $20 Hot 777 scratch-off.
The new millionaire said he regularly plays scratch-offs on the weekend and added the Hot 777 game to his purchases when it went on sale in April. The Harford County winner purchased three scratch-offs one lucky day at Fallston Liquors, located at 1702 Harford Road in Fallston. When he exited the store and started to scratch off his games, he discovered his third instant ticket won big.
“I couldn’t believe it. I was in shock. I am still in shock,” he said.
The lucky player has only told his wife and his lawyer about this big win. He works in manufacturing and is nearing retirement. Since he already paid off his home mortgage, the loyal player plans to save his winnings.
“This money will go toward my retirement,” he explained.
