Police investigating arson, auto thefts, assaults

NOTTINGHAM, MD—Police are investigating a burglary, an arson, two assaults, and several auto thefts that were reported this month.

Sometime between Friday, May 5 and Saturday, May 6, 2023, an individual broke into a storage locker in the unit block of Fontana Lane in Rosedale (21237).

At 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, two individuals became involved in a mutual first-degree assault in the 6800-block of Golden Ring Road in Rosedale (21237) and were subsequently arrested.

Sometime between 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, an individual stole a 2015 light blue Hyundai Sonata, MD registration “1FA4829,” from the 6600-block of Wycombe Way in Hillendale (21234).

At just after 9:30 p.m. on Friday, May 12, three individuals with a weapon committed a first-degree assault against victims in the area of Dunfield Road and Kintore Drive in Nottingham (21236) before fleeing the scene on foot.

At around 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, a 2012 white Cadillac CTC, MD registration “6EZ5149,” was stolen after the victim left it running with the keys inside of it in the 6600-block of Glenbarr Court in Hillendale (21234). The vehicle was later recovered in another jurisdiction.

At just before 2 a.m. on Sunday, May 14, officers recovered a stolen vehicle in the 1100-block of Halstead Road in Hillendale (21234).  Police then identified and arrested the suspects.

At just after 3 a.m. on Sunday, May 14, a suspect was arrested in connection with a first-degree arson in the 1300-block of Deanwood Road in Hillendale (21234).
