FALLSTON, MD—A Fallston man used his hometown’s ZIP code to help him win $50,000 twice in a May 5 Pick 5 drawing.
The retired business owner, a loyal Pick 3 and Pick 4 player for years, would use street address numbers for those games. When Pick 5 started in February 2022, he needed a new idea for a five-digit number. That’s the lucky day he came up with the strategy to use his Fallston ZIP code of 21047.
“Let me pick a number that I can remember,” he explained about his choice.
That choice paid off this month when he purchased two $1 straight bet tickets that resulted in a $100,000 combined prize in the May 5 evening drawing.
The Harford County resident recalls being very nonchalant when he saw he won. He added he has no plans yet for the money other than putting it in the bank.
“I don’t get too excited. Money doesn’t excite me anymore,” he said about the win. “I am at the point of my life where I like to spend time with my daughter and play at the casinos for fun.”
The lucky player purchased his tickets at the 7-Eleven located at 2400 Pleasantville Road in Fallston.
