Baltimore County Council votes unanimously to confirm Col. Robert McCullough as police chief

TOWSON, MD—The Baltimore County Police Department has a new Chief of Police.

The Baltimore County Council on Monday evening voted unanimously to confirm Col. Robert McCullough as police chief.

County Executive Johnny Olszewski released the following statement:

“I applaud the Council for its swift confirmation of 35-year Baltimore County Police veteran Robert McCullough as the department’s newest chief,” said County Executive Johnny Olszewski. “Chief McCullough is a highly respected, homegrown leader who shares my values for 21st-century community policing and I am confident that under his leadership, Baltimore County will remain safe for years to come.”

“Congratulations to Colonel Robert McCullough on his unanimous approval as Baltimore County’s Chief of Police.” said Fifth District Councilman David Marks. “He brings more than three of decades of service to this critical position. I look forward to working with him to replenish, grow, and improve our police force.”
