ESSEX, MD—Police in Baltimore County are investigating after a teenager was wounded in an overnight shooting.

At just before 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, officers responded to the 1600-block of Cape May Road (21221) for reports of shots fired.

When police arrived at the location, no victim was located. Shortly afterward, officers received another call that a 14-year-old victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound. The injured teen was transported to an area hospital and is in stable condition.

Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this case. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police at 410-307-2020.
