Wanted suspect spotted in Cockeysville, police pursuit in progress

UPDATE 5: Portions of Harford Road and Belair Road are now being shut down in Fallston.  Motorists should avoid the area.

UPDATE 4: OFFICER DOWN – The Baltimore County Police Department says the officer who was shot on Thursday night has sustained serious injuries.  Authorities are still pursuing the suspect in Fallston.

UPDATE 3: Those in the vicinity of Belair Road at Mountain Road are being advised to shelter-in-place. Aviation units are in pursuit and there is a very heavy police presence in the area.

UPDATE 2: A police officer has been injured in Thursday night’s shooting (an officer was also injured after the suspect fired shots on Wednesday).

UPDATE: Police believe the suspect is armed with two rifles and may be driving at high speeds in the Fallston area.

COCKEYSVILLE, MD—A wanted suspect has once again fired shots in Cockeysville and a police pursuit is in progress at this hour.

At just before 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, David Linthicum fired shots and reportedly struck a police officer in the vicinity of Powers Avenue.

Linthicum was wanted by police after firing shots that struck a police officer on Wednesday.

A police pursuit is in progress and there is a very heavy police presence in the area.  The suspect is believed to be fleeing toward Harford County.

Residents in the area are being asked to shelter-in-place.
