Carney armed robbery suspect arrested, linked to Baltimore City homicide

CARNEY, MD—Police have arrested an 18-year-old in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in Carney last month.

On January 26, detectives with the Baltimore County Police Department arrested Sahiou Kargbo.

The arrest followed an armed robbery that occurred in the 3000-block of E. Joppa Road (21234) at around 5:45 a.m. on January 6th.

During the robbery, police say the suspect entered the location armed with a handgun and demanded money. Two employees were inside the business at the time of the robbery.

After the workers complied with the gunman’s demands, the suspect fled the scene.

Kargbo was arrested on Wednesday, January 26th. During his arrest, investigators located two firearms–a Glock 43x 9mm semi-automatic loaded handgun with a 50 round drum magazine and a Jennings Bryco 59 9mm semi-automatic handgun which was unloaded.

Kargbo has been charged with armed robbery, robbery, first-degree assault, theft, and weapons charges.

Authorities say he is being held in Baltimore City in connection with a city homicide. Additional details have not yet been released.
